Project Description & Creative Brief:

“The project focuses on the design of 3 groups of 3 garments or objects, in which the same item changes its appearance, tactility, and character through altering its proportion, sizing, and materiality. The product ranges are based on the reinterpretation of the following iconic MM6 Maison Margiela themes.”

Theme interpretation:

Through my utilitarian concept, I choose my theme to be the French Server Attire. Interpreting the theme “utilitarian” as work wear, the server uniform was the most intriguing to me due to the cultural shock it had on me. The uniform on its own holds so many layered garments only to create an illusion of fluidity and harmony amongst practicality.
